Advertisers not able to see my ad packages
« on: November 09, 2010, 09:19:33 AM »
I am setting up RevMax with PayPal. I created several new ad packages and have them all linked to zones. The problem I am having is the advertisers aren't able to see these and when they try to create a New Campaign they are getting an error that reads "You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1"

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please make sure you have "custom signup urls" disabled under Plugins> RevMax > details > settings

When this option is selected no ad packages will show on the advertiser signup screen and a custom url must be used such as
domain/openx/clients/advertisers.php?packageid=1 where 1 is the package id you are linking to.

Mike, thank you for your reply. I checked that the "custom signup urls" is not checked, making it disabled but I am still having the same problem non of the packages are showing for the advertisers.

Just checked the signup form. packages show as should be.

Perhaps this error is on a refresh when a user submits invalid or incomplete information.
Please review the forms and form validation in the clients folder. Most fields should be checked as is, check your form for fields that are not and may be causing the problem.

This issue has been covered here before:

Let me know if your talking about something else.

Thank you Mike for checking that out. The problem though is when an advertiser tries to start a new campaign or reload the one already up and running. The packages are not showing on their end. I will pm you with an advertisers login through pm is that's ok. Maybe you can check that out for me.

Thanks again.

Ok I see what you're trying to do now.

I don't believe paypal allows for more than 1 subscription to a website. Subscriptions automatically default to "available for reorder" = no. Has paypal changed this policy ?

My thought process as I designed it was, a client purchases a subscription on signup, if / when it ends or doesn't  rebill, then the client can begin to purchase adviews or adclicks and add to the existing campaign, or begin again and create a new account.

If you're confident paypal allows multiple subscriptions, I can perhaps revisit it in the script in the next month or two as the weather changes and I become more focused indoors.

For now, I would assume that setting reorder to yes in the db on the packages you want would let them show.

I also believe by looking at your package definitions that wont be your last problem.

Thank you Mike, now you have me scared! Ok I will just edit all the packages and set it all up the way you meant it to be just as ad-ons.

Thanks you again.

Hi,
Not sure what you mean by add on. Or why you would be scared. Simply cant have multiple subscriptions from the same client. You can leave your packages as is, this is what the client encounters outside and creates a subscription, You will need 1 or more re-order packages of adviews or adclicks to show inside the members area for the client to replenish the campaign if it expires, doesn't rebill etc.

I will try to dig thru paypals info again soon and see about multiple subscriptions, and if it can be implemented across all gateways.

Anyone with personal knowledge, feel free to post.

Hey Mike,

I was just wondering if you could give me some examples of the best way to set up the ad packages. Since I am new to all of this and my web guy is still out of town I would really appreciate it.

Thank you again for all your help,
Jacquie
